BASLP
BACHELOR IN AUDIOLOGY & SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY
- Assess and treat various types of speech, language and hearing disorders.
- Function as team member of health care teams such as voice care and phonosurgery, cochlear implant programs, laryngectomy, hearing aid dispensing centres and aphasia rehabilitation centers.
DURATION
- The duration of the course shall be of 4 years consisting of 6 semesters of coursework and 2 semesters of internship.
- Each semester will be of a minimum period of 16 weeks and internship will be of 10 months.
- At the end of these semesters there shall be examinations, followed by vacation for students.
- Course shall be completed within 7 years from the date of enrolment for the course.
ELIGIBILITY
- The candidate applying for admission to BASLP course should have passed 10+2 examination or equivalent / two years of Pre-University/Pre-Degree examination conducted by the Pre University Board of Education of Government of respective State with minimum 50% of marks, and further.
- The applicant/candidate should have studied: Physics, Chemistry & Biology / Mathematics / Computer Science / Statistics / Electronics / Psychology/ Home Science.
- At the time of entry/admission to the first semester BASLP course the candidate should be of age 17 years and there is no upper age limit for admission.
- Lateral entry to 2nd year of BASLP is permitted for candidates who meet the following criteria as per Bangalore University rules.
- Successfully passed Diploma in Hearing-Language-Speech (DHLS) revised course from any RCI recognized training institute with Science background as specified under 3
- Two years of work experience in the field.
- A maximum of 3 seats can be admitted on merit basis as supernumerary to total intake permitted by RCI and respective affiliating University. For candidates who have successfully passed the pre-revised DHLS course recognized by RCI with 2 years of work experience, 3 month short course approved by RCI and entrance test will be the requirement.

Internship of one academic year duration (10 months) will start after the candidate completes the required courses till the 4th semester and appears for sixth semester.
